The Venerosi Pesciolini Family are a very old family dating back to the Carolingian period. The first signs of the Venerosi in the historical record are from 803 A.D. It is believed that our family settled in Ghizzano towards the end of the 14th century. The family’s country house is now a residential Villa and the heart of the company. The Villa has a beautiful, typical classic late renaissance style Italian garden. The "Tenuta di Ghizzano" (Ghizzano Estate) is one of the oldest farms in the area but also one of the most innovative. It is made up of 280 hectares of rolling hills, in one of the most stunning landscapes in the world, farmed completely ORGANICALLY and using BIODYNAMIC methods, with 18 hectares of vineyards, 15 of olives, 100 hectares of arable land and the remaining 150 of woodland and poplar groves where truffle hunters search for their perfumed golden treasures secretively. Ghizzano is a small mediaeval hilltop village, situated at about 200m above sea level in an area referred to as “Terre Di Pisa” (The Pisan Countryside). The landscape is gentle, and the climate is mild, thanks to the sea breeze, without extreme temperatures or great risk of springtime frosts. When the fruits of the earth come from a place “in harmony with nature”, “excellence” is already inside them. Respect for nature, the place that hosts us and the people who work and live here. That's how our products blossom.
Our aim is offer high quality products, which reflect the style, the elegance and rich fragrances of these rolling hills.
