We are a small family-run winery founded in 2003 (Pfalz, Mittelhaardt). Inspired by the work with traditional methods and processing techniques we produce elegant, wholesome wines: Riesling, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay full of finesse and great aging potential. They unite good balance with the interplay of mineral nuances, intensity and fullness. Such a quality we achieve by using the best handpicked grapes of biodynamic and polyculture cultivation as well as minimalistic work in the cellar and long aging processes in wooden barrels, amphora and concrete egg.
Our sparkling: traditional classical method (min. 36 months -120 months on the lees). The minerality is supported by a very fine perlage.
We are DEMETER certified, member of ´Verband traditioneller Sektmacher e.V.´, ´La Renaissance des Appellations´ and since 2021 certified carbon neutral. We received the "Green emblem" by Robert Parker Wine Advocate (one of about 50 wineries worldwide).

Our Pinot Noir grapes are growing exclusively in the best Palatinate sites known to be rich in limestone. Winemaking follows traditional Burgundian practices; gentle macerations with whole clusters followed by spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Aged 20 months in 500L French Oak barrels, bottled unfiltered. Thus resulting in a clear, highly perfumed and multi-faceted Pinot Noir with layers of depth and complexity.
Intense ruby in the glass. Inside nose notes of red and black currant. On the palate Morello and blackberry with a fresh and stimulating juiciness. Well incorporate ripe tannins accompany the juicy finish with a velvety note.

This Chardonnay grapes are growing also on the best Palatinate limestone, more precisely in Kallstadt. A few hours of maceration after the harvest, then gently pressed and initially sedimented for 24 hours. Then spontaneously fermented and aged in barriques for 1 year. The nose does what the name promises: pure lime! Reduced fruit, initially just stone. Flint and crushed chalk, lots of energy, lots of reductive tension. There is a certain drama, just in the nose. Then ripe lemon peel, almond, a hint of beeswax and quince also come to the fore. On the palate, it is straight as a candle, vibrant and powerfully mineral, but somehow remains surprisingly delicate. The acidity is present, but polished, and blends seamlessly into the fine tannin structure. Ripe, zesty aromas play on the edges of the mouth, crystalline salt covers the entire mouth and has an animating effect. Very nice length and structure.

Hand-picked, short macerations with slower, extended pressing times. Fermentation takes place in 1200L & 2400L neutral barrels and is spontaneous, using only native yeast. Some whole berries remain in the fermenting must to enhance the structure & texture, resulting in a wine full of character with excellent aging potential. Following fermentation, the wines remain on their lees for one full year, allowing for a natural self-clarification process to take place which also contributes to the complex nature of our wines.Bright golden yellow with green reflections. In the nose zesters of clementine, green apple and sage. A youthful wine with lively and well buffered rich, juicy, animating acidity. Dense and powerful on the palate, with fruitiness reminiscent of apricot, fine minerality, with grip! Long finish with creamy, yet silky structure. A candidate for the maturity exam

Finally the time has come! Exactly three years ago I was crowned Palatinate Wine Princess and now I have my own wine in honor and in memory of this very limited term of office (more lock-down than events). The hand-picked Riesling grapes were allowed to ferment and ripen spontaneously in a stoneware amphora in the open air for two years. The wine was bottled by hand without added sulfur and without filtration. So it’s already explained why “Princess” is on the label; but why “on the berry”? Some of you may already be able to guess. I was inspired by the Grimm fairy tale “Princess and the Pea” so I added a hand-stemmed and fermented berry to each bottle using tweezers! Each bottle was closed manually with a high-quality cork. The bottled wine was allowed to mature in the bottle for another year. 640 manually numbered 0.75 l bottles and 12 magnums are now available to purchase from us as a “late release”. Good things just take time ? Golden yellow with green reflections. Herbal aromas in the nose, fine green tea. In the mouth there is a complex, dense creamy structure with ripe fruit aromas such as melon, sun-ripened pineapple and citrus. Only the delicate, well-balanced herbal note in the finish reveals the long fermentation on the skin. The characteristic Riesling acidity is part of the expressive structure. A brilliant wine for meditation or as an accompaniment to food such as grilled green asparagus and summer vegetables.

The grapes for our sparkling wines are sourced from our oldest and best Riesling vineyard sites. Gentle whole-cluster pressing and extended aging is carried out in our larger barrels crafted (up to 8000 l) with oak sourced directly from the Palatinate forest. The secondary fermentation follows the traditional steps for traditional method; 36 months minimum aging on the lees in bottle, lending to a soft texture with a fine mousse of bubbles on the palate. This extended lees aging also enhances the striking mineral nuances while highlighting all of the classic Riesling aromas one can hope to expect. Dosage of 3 g and very little sulfur added after the wines are disgorged.
