Pfalz
Chardonnay
White wine
This Chardonnay grapes are growing also on the best Palatinate limestone, more precisely in Kallstadt. A few hours of maceration after the harvest, then gently pressed and initially sedimented for 24 hours. Then spontaneously fermented and aged in barriques for 1 year. The nose does what the name promises: pure lime! Reduced fruit, initially just stone. Flint and crushed chalk, lots of energy, lots of reductive tension. There is a certain drama, just in the nose. Then ripe lemon peel, almond, a hint of beeswax and quince also come to the fore. On the palate, it is straight as a candle, vibrant and powerfully mineral, but somehow remains surprisingly delicate. The acidity is present, but polished, and blends seamlessly into the fine tannin structure. Ripe, zesty aromas play on the edges of the mouth, crystalline salt covers the entire mouth and has an animating effect. Very nice length and structure.
