The soil is calcareous, sandy loess, partly interspersed with terrace sediments and rocks from the Alzey Formation (marine sand).
The vines are 45 to 65 years old and are therefore the oldest in our collection. They only produce a few, small-berry grapes, with complex, intense aromas.
