The grapes for our (alter)native originate from high-elevation sites from the “Pündericher Marienburg.” The soil is dominated by grey-weathered slate.
This wine is our version of natural wine. You cannot just taste the terroir, but you can also taste the style of vinification. We need healthy grapes with firm skins. In most vintages, the grapes stay in contact with their skins for about 48 hours. Due to this extended period, the skins give the wines color, taste, and a unique grip. The wines ferment spontaneously in old Fuder (1000l oak barrel), stay for 10 months in contact with their lees and will be bottled unfiltered. We just add a slight touch of sulfur to the wine.
