The single plot “Falkenlay” lies within our premium site “Pündericher Marienburg” in between “Rothenpfad” and “Fahrlay”. The soil is a bit heavier and is dominated by grey slate. The old winemakers in the village have always declared “Falkenlay” as the best site in the Marienburg. The vines are protected from sometimes harsh winds and the grapes always reach a special kind of ripeness, due to its distinctive site. The wines are fruit forward, intense, and show a unique type of minerality.
