A darker twist on the ever-sunny southern Burgenland. Very present, yet always elegant herbal spice. The dark aura of dark berries flows through the room, flanking those who walk beside it. A sour cherry tartlet rests on an old wooden table. Old, but good. The red loamy soil of the south-facing Ried Weinberg vineyard inevitably whisks the mind away to puristic Baroli made in the traditional style. Punchy tannins bring Baroque and tanned shoulders into play. And a delicate golden necklace. The locals’ true local mountain. For all this dark fruit, the sun still shines through.
