Lutzmannsburg
Blaufränkisch
Red wine
The Ried Maissner is a south-facing vineyard at the highest point of the Lutzmannsburg Plateau, home to some of our oldest vines on iron-rich soils. The oldest were planted in 1908, while the youngest date back to the 1930s. Perched atop the primordial volcano, the vineyard’s topsoil is a dynamic mix of heavy clay and sand deposits. In just a few steps, the composition shifts from dense clay to patches of sand, yet the site remains remarkably uniform, enriched by limestone sediments from the Pannonian Sea.
