The winery in Gols is located 60 kilometers southeast of Vienna, near the Hungarian border, in the heart of the beatutiful natural paradise of northern Burgenland. Since 1684, winemaking has been at the center of the family`s activities. At that time, what had been a mixed farm was transformed into a purely wine-growing estate. Paul Achs Jr. has been managing it since 1990. Since then, the estate has grown from 12 to 25 hectares-a stable size, thanks in no small part to the diligence and dedicated groundwork of the generations before him. The vineyard sites are located across 40 parcels, each ne unique. This wide diestribution provides us with a diversity of soils and microclimates-an ideal foundation for crafting exciting, authentic wines year after year.
O'ur winery has been biodynamically certified since 2006, tohough even before that we did not use any herbicides. Weeds were always removed mechanically, never chemically. In our view, love, enjoyment, and joie de vivre inherentliy belong together-none can exist without the others. In the best sense, togetherness and being there for one another are simply a natural part of life. This is exactly how we see our wine, both for ourselves and, of course, for our customers. Our wines are meant to complement, to accompny, to taste simply good, and above all, to bring joy. That is our guiding principle.
