Castello di Perno is an organic family winery located in the single vineyard (MGA) Castelletto in the village of Monforte d'Alba, at the border with the famous Vigna Rionda single vineyard located in Serralunga d'Alba.

The family project started in 2014 with Gregorio Gitti, with the goal to valorize from the beginning the potential of Monforte d'alba and his beautiful terroir.
The winery owns 14,5 hectares for a total production of 50.000 bottles beetwen Nascetta (the only indigenous white grape from Langhe), Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo and Barolo.
The project can be define like NEO-CLASSICAL;
NEO cause we are trying to produce Barolo less rich in austerity and opulence but more rich in finesse and freshness, a Barolo with silky and velvety tannins.
CLASSICAL cause beyond to follow classic Barolo's rules like big oak barrels, long maceration, long ageing, the goal is always to preserve the integrity and purity of Nebbiolo grape, marries the tradition in the continuous research for specific and innovative techniques, with the aim of producing fine and territorial wines, perfectly recognizable and well balanced.
