Wine-growing region:
Sicilia
A wine does not need to be perfect. It needs to be authentic!
I have devoted my life to wine, to getting to know and appreciate it, in an attempt to understand its boundless complexity. Each wine is a world to itself, which lives, grows and changes as human beings do, acquiring over time a personality that makes it unique and unlike any other wine.
My vineyards are located at the slope of Mt. Etna, between 600 and 1,200 metres above sea level, on the northern and north-western slopes. This is a mysterious and special place, a unique ecosystem with its own remarkable climatic variability and a variegated landscape teeming with life.

Mareneve is the result of an idea as simple as it is bold, that of planting a vineyard at extreme altitude to ascertain how the vines react to cold climates and volcanic soil at high altitude. I have always considered wine a sort of living thing: an element that changes to reflect our society and constantly evolve with it.

After the experience of Profumo di Vulcano I felt a need to produce a more accessible wine, to share the fruits of my work with a greater number of people, connoisseurs as well as simple wine enthusiasts. Etna Rosso comes from a superb district that boasts a winemaking tradition over two thousand years old. It is from this sandy, rocky soil that my Etna Rosso is born. It is a wine that speaks the language of its land and embodies its spirit, a pure sip of authenticity.

Rosso di Mezzo is the refined expression of a single vineyard, in the heart of Contrada Feudo di Mezzo in Passopisciaro, in the small plot called Cubito, spontaneously vinified in steel and enriched by a tonneau from the century-old vineyard, essential to maintain the “fil rouge” with its vineyard of origin

Profumo di Vulcano comes from 2 a small vineyard that dates back to the late nineteenth century, 2 half-hectar plots of land on the northern slopes of Mount Etna at 600 metres above sea level, in the district of Feudo di Mezzo, a small hamlet in Passopisciaro, The altitude and north-facing position offer shelter from the strong winds of the sirocco, which is why the daily temperature ranges to around 25°C in summer. These unique conditions ensure the grapes the longer maturation that develops their taste and complexity, a vineyard-garden to perfectly sum up this land.
