Tenuta De Sterlich is a 25 hectare winery, consisting of 20 hectares of vineyards of Montepulcianod'Abruzzo, Trebbiano, Pecorino, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay as well as some hectares ofolive groves and deciduous trees. Arranged in a single body between the Gran Sasso and the SeaAdriatico at an altitude of 200m above sea level, is located outside the municipality of MoscianoSant'Angelo in Selva of the high hills on the hills of Teramo. The pergola and row vineyards extendover a hilly slope overlooking the Adriatic Sea to the east, the Maiella massif to the south and themountain range to the west del Gran Sasso, are perfectly exposed to the sun and winds from boththe sea and the mountains, Tenuta De Sterlich follows a biological and biodynamic conversionregime; the wines are left ferment spontaneously maturing in concrete, steel and wood tanks, thegrapes come strictly hand-picked. The vinification takes place with a manual wooden press and thewine refines on the fine lees. De Sterlich wines are characterized by a strong structure and intensearomas. The production of grapes per hectare does not exceed 6 quintals, in fact most of ourvineyard it falls into the category of historic vineyards where the oldest vines are over sixty yearsold. We produce around 20,000 bottles per year. Through our Mother Clay project we age the ourwines in amphorae made from the same clay present in our vineyard, hence the De family Sterlichhas been producing wines since 1789.
