The Family owned Winery was founded in 1998 by Dr. Dr. Nikolaus Buchheim, a passionate wine lover and wine collector. The estate is located in the beautiful hills of Southern Tuscany, 300 m above sea level overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea in the heart of the Maremma. On 11 ha the red wine varieties Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Canaiolo are cultivated.
All our wines are strictly biological and "hand crafted".
The wines are then aged in French tonneaux for 12 to 24 months in our barrel cellar which is situated under the historical church of Scansano from the 13th Century.
The wines we are producing are our DOCG Morellino di Scansano, our Top IGT wine "Tommaso" made of a very elegant Sangiovese from our oldest grapes as well as our more international IGT Top wine "il Nibbio" based on Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot.
