Pfalz
The Rebholz family consists of Birgit and Hansjörg, Hans, Valentin, and Helene. Closely associated with the name of the Ökonomierat (a traditional honorary title in German wine culture) and with our wines is the idea of “natural wine” – a love for dry wines, clearly expressing their varietal character, with exceptional potential. We constantly question, refine, and advance this philosophy with one clear goal: quality. So much so that our style is often described as “typically Rebholz.”
Rebholz wines can only thrive where ideal conditions prevail: where vines take root in outstanding vineyard sites with ideal soils; where there is a sensitive balance between water and mineral content, between microclimate and the community of all living organisms in the vineyard. Where growth is nurtured through meticulous and sensitive vineyard work by the winemaker. Even before we received organic certification and transitioned to biodynamic viticulture in 2006, our focus was always on working with nature in a respectful and thoughtful way.

Riesling
White wine
Biodinamic
This Riesling shows exotic and smoky notes due to the shell limestone soil. The richness of the soil gives the wines from the “Muschelkalk” a wonderful richness and a powerful character. The acidity is wonderfully integrated, with a salty minerality on the finish. The wine has a very good aging potential – like all Rebholz wines.

Perfect harmony of ripeness, minerality, fruit and acidity as well as density and balance. Very typical for the vineyard site, the smell is formed from the red slate, which creates hints of smoke, pepper, firestone, hay, tee and herbs. It also has the typical Riesling aromas like citrus, apple, peach and apricot. On the palate it has the same combination of aromas: the Riesling grape delivers the fruity taste and the soil provides the herby, spicy taste and minerality. Like all Rebholz wines, this wine has a huge ageing potential.

The wine shows a perfect interplay between minerality, fruit and acidity, density and elegance. The bouquet is a prime example of the site. Aromas of flint, hay, black tea, wild herbs and woodruff are evident, complemented by sweet and spicy licorice. With a little aeration, it also reveals hints of ripe citrus, red-fleshed vineyard peach, exotic fruit and sweet tropical flowers. This double game is repeated on the palate, with the grape variety contributing the fruity, elegant aromas and the ferruginous soil the herbaceous, spicy and mineral aromas. The wine is very energetic and concentrated, with a long, clean, almost vibrant finish. This wine, like all Rebholz wines, has great aging potential.

Typical of a wine from this terroir is the smoky and spicy aroma created by the shell limestone soil. In the nose, the old Pinot Blanc vines bring out the mellowness and a fruitiness reminiscent of ripe pears and lemon peel, complemented by a touch of flint. The full ripeness of the absolutely healthy grapes from vines, some of which are almost 40 years old, is the basis of this world-class Burgundy wine. On the palate, it is very concentrated and ripe, leaving a round, silky impression. The interplay of minerality and grape ripeness is evident in the distinctly salty, mineral style that gives the wine a very long finish. Our restrained aging in stainless steel tanks produces an absolutely genuine wine of origin, with a perfect interplay between tension, ripeness, power, fruit, richness and mineral acidity. Like all Rebholz wines, this wine has great aging potential.
