Nestled between the Apuan Alps and the Tyrrhenian Sea, stretching from the rolling hills north of Lucca to the coastal heights of the Maremma, Villa Santo Stefano is a certified organic boutique winery owned by Wolfgang Reitzle. Its vineyards span five distinct microclimates, each parcel carefully cultivated and harvested to preserve its unique character. Low yields and meticulous selection, combined with precise vinification in a state-of-the-art cellar in Lucca, result in wines of clarity, structure and quiet intensity. Surrounded by olive groves and a Renaissance-style garden with a lotus pond, the estate reflects the harmony and rhythm of the Tuscan landscape.

2025 GIOIA di Villa Santo Stefano (BIO)

White wine
GIOIA is our white wine made from 100% Vermentino, aged six months in stainless steel. It shows bright fruit and delicate mineral freshness, typical of our Tuscan terroir. Around 3,000 vines grow in a sheltered vineyard near the estate, just 20 km from the Tyrrhenian Sea. Sea breezes and limestone-rich soils give the wine balance, lively acidity and a distinctive Mediterranean character.

50% Sangiovese, 50% Merlot
Rosé wine
LUNA is our rosé, combining summer freshness with elegant restraint. Its delicate salmon-pink color reveals aromas of white peach, strawberry and red apple peel. On the palate, LUNA is balanced and subtle, with fine acidity and bright fruit. Perfect for warm days by the sea or relaxing by the pool, it takes its name from the moon over Lucca which sometimes mirrors its soft pink hue in the evening sky.
2024 VOLO di Villa Santo Stefano (BIO)

40% Petit Verdot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Alicante Bouschet

VOLO is our young, fresh red, born in 2019 and inspired by new beginnings. This blend of mainly Bordeaux varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot with Alicante Bouschet, was aged nine months in concrete tanks. Deep violet in color, it shows aromas of blackberry, plum and ripe cherry – juicy, charming and authentic. Named VOLO, Italian for “flight,” it celebrates freedom, fresh starts and community.
2023 SERENO di Villa Santo Stefano (BIO)

SERENO marks a new chapter for Villa Santo Stefano, first created in 2015 to capture the essence of Northern Tuscany. A DOC Colline Lucchesi wine, it blends mainly Sangiovese with traditional local varieties such as Ciliegiolo, Colorino and Canaiolo. Hand-harvested with care, SERENO has been certified organic since 2021 and was aged 12 months in fine 18-hectoliter oak barrels, resulting in a structured, elegant wine that expresses the heart of Lucca’s hills.

50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot

LOTO is the heart of Villa Santo Stefano – a refined blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot, offering exceptional depth, structure and harmony. Only three to four clusters per vine ensure concentrated, expressive fruit. Each varietal is aged 12 months in French barriques and tonneaux (30% new), with the final blend resting 6–9 months in concrete tanks, creating a precise and terroir-driven wine.

NINA is our long-held dream realized in a single-variety Cabernet Franc. Sourced from the finest vineyard parcels and grown organically, it is powerful, expressive and precise. NINA is aged 14 months in selected French barriques, revealing aromas of red fruits, delicate herbs and elegant spice. Each bottle reflects careful handwork in the vineyard and meticulous winemaking. This limited edition is just 2,000 bottles, embodying our commitment to quality and the extraordinary.
